Origins

Born in 1972 in Leuze-en-Hainaut, a small town in Hainaut not far from Tournai, about sixty kilometers from Brussels, I quickly developed a passion for history and geography. My parents, both teachers, introduced me to the culture of books and learning.

Since we often spent our holidays abroad and my mother was a history teacher, we never tired of visiting museums, churches, and other monuments. From the standing stones of Brittany to Tournai Cathedral, I gradually learned to appreciate these "old stones."

Afterwards?

Studying Latin, Greek, and other modern languages to open myself to other cultures, I honed my passion for art history in higher education. Dutch and English allowed me to meet many people and familiarize myself with works not yet translated into French.

Abroad...

For sentimental reasons, I lived in the Czech Republic for a long time. It was there that my love for architecture and art history developed. Later, I also moved to Albania and Morocco. This obviously allowed me to discover cultures very different from our beloved Belgium.

To finish...

I trained as a tour guide specializing in urban tours, focusing on architecture and historical details. I also took courses in wine tasting, for example, to further my expertise.

In the near future, perhaps already by the time you read these lines, a YouTube channel will be created, specializing in so-called "little history," anecdotes, little-known places, etc.
